Under The Sea Cupcakes

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the first date I had with my husband Ernie, June 10th 1995. He was in the U.S. Navy stationed at the Naval War College in New Port, Rhode Island. We went to an air show and saw The Blue Angels and ate free pizza from Little Cesar's (Thanks Charlie!)on the lawn of Fort Adams. That was 18 years ago. That's one long walk on the beach and its not over yet!
To a wonderful husband and father, I love you!
Now for the cupcakes: They are vanilla cupcakes with Pillsbury Funfetti aqua blue vanilla frosting. I then used Gummy octopus, Swedish Fish, green licorice and Jelly Belly jelly beans.

Emma-Lea texted me yesterday and asked me if I would make some cupcakes for a party at school.
I have been wanting to make these cupcakes for a while and collected all the ingredients.
The marshmallow ice cream cones came from this  blog. http://thepartiologist.blogspot.jp/2013/05/neapolitan-marshmallow-ice-cream-cones.html .The chocolate cupcake recipe came from http://www.hellmanns.com/recipes/detail/32576/1/super-moist-chocolate-mayo-cake . The frosting is a simple butter cream.

Scripture Mastery Cupcakes

For this last school year my daughter Emma-Lea has attended a Bible study class called Seminary. It starts at 5:50 every morning during the school week, before school starts. I drive her! This year the course of study was the New Testament. The students have a list of 25 scriptures they try to memorize. At the end of the year they have a party. These cupcakes were for the party.
Thank you Mark and Terri Peterson for being such great teachers!

The cupcake topper idea came from http://www.latter-dayhomeschooling.com/2011/10/memorizing-scriptures.html .I changed it a little for the" book cover" I used a 3 section piece of a full sized Hershey bar and Twizzler  pull "n" peel for the book mark. The cupcake is a "Hot Chocolate" cupcake with 1/4 of a teaspoon of Cayenne pepper and 1. teaspoon Cinnamon added to a dark chocolate cake mix. The butter cream frosting is a Churro inspired, with Cocoa and Cinnamon added.
